BioMaterials Group at EGE University – Turkey

The Biomaterials Group had the pleasure to be hosted by the Biomimetic Microsystems Laboratory (BioMIC), at the Department of Bioengineering of Ege University (Izmir, Turkey).

Our PhD candidates, Ewa Walejewska and Alessia Paradiso, visited the BioMIC lab for their second research internship within the Biocancer Project, a bilateral collaboration between Poland and Turkey funded by NCBR and Tubitak. Moreover, Professor Wojciech Swieszkowski has visited the BioMIC lab, which is led by Prof. Ozlem Yesil-Celiktas, and delivered a seminar titled “Microfluidic-Assisted Biofabrication”. It has been a great occasion to showcase one of our research areas to a stage of young scientists, students and professors with different backgrounds. They also had the chance to visit the new established EgeSAM – Respiratory Research Center

This event marked a significant step towards strengthening the scientific collaboration between our institutions, i.e., WUT and EGE, and a huge opportunity to engage in such fruitful exchanges of knowledge and expertise.

We extend our gratitude for welcoming us in Izmir and boosting our join project’s final goals.
